Busy Bee Editing assists established and first-time authors with their manuscripts, books, bios, press releases, advertising texts, book cover blurbs, eBooks, book cover designs or any other design work. We assist overseas publishers with proofreading, editing, amending and layout services. Our skills, expertise, confidentiality and integrity have successfully perfected the work of MANY happy clients.

We do not ask for a deposit or payment upfront until the work has been completed to our satisfaction. At this point, we will email you our invoice with banking details for payment. Upon receiving proof of payment, we will email you the work.

We have found that most editing and proofreading ‘services’ do not offer a one-on-one relationship as they assign each project to only ONE Editor or Proofreader. Busy Bee Editing remains one of the FEW services of its kind in South Africa that GUARANTEES that a team of two will be dedicated to YOUR project from start to finish. We double-check and correct your work BEFORE sending it to you.

We are two seasoned professionals who are both voracious readers and passionate about the English language. We GUARANTEE your satisfaction.

Brenda was born in South Africa, and Hugo in Sri Lanka. Hugo has a degree in Psychology and Drama from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Brenda is an experienced self-taught personal assistant, secretary, legal secretary and sub-editor.

We both have versatile working histories, which have proved helpful for proofreading and editing.

We both love animals and the environment, and we are happily living in a delightful seaside town called Struisbaai in Agulhas, where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet (the southernmost tip of Africa) in the Western Cape, South Africa with our precious little girl, our rescued dog ‘Happy’ who is also our ‘office and credit manager’ and our energetic little boy, our rescued Yorkie ‘Taffy’ who is ‘the trainee’ and our recent addition ‘Smokey’ who is the ‘dogs body’.
