  • How long have they been doing proofreading/editing commercially?
  • Are they accredited by a reputable editors’ platform such as Oasis or PEG?
  • Do they have a website?
  • Do they have contactable testimonials?
  • Do they offer Tracking as a benefit to their clients?
  • Do they pay attention to issues such as the author’s voice, syntax, active and passive voice etc.?
  • Do they offer a double-edit at no extra cost?
  • Do they offer a range of additional services such as cover design, ebook layout and dvelopmental editing in addition to copy-editing and proofreading?
  • Are they able to get under the skin of your writing so as to present your thesis or book as closely as possible to your authentic voice as an author?
  • Do they do a sufficiently thorough job of proofreading/editing, so as to prevent any risk of plagiarism?
  • Do the respond promptly to quote requests?
  • Do they have fast turnaround time?
