The legal fraternity in the US had better come up with a concrete plan to slow Trump down legally soon, as the blizzard of executive orders he has signed so far, with more to come, I am sure, is continuing; (Rumors of impeachment efforts are already ‘in the wind’) – or otherwise Trump will continue to cause chaos.
Elon Musk; supposedly the richest man in the world seems to be becoming as ‘batty’ as Trump. It appears that the 19 to 24 year old cohort who are assuming enormous responsibility in their roles at Doge (Department of government efficiency) are doing incredibly stupid things. One of the bright sparks who was supposed to send a critical email to a particular judge allegedly pressed the wrong button and sent it to all the judges in the nation. Perhaps the leaders of Doge should pay more attention to the efficiency of their own staff.
Meanwhile, it appears as if Musk’s Tesla stock is tanking, so, he might become a lot poorer quite soon. Likewise, the value of Trump’s crypto coin the $Trump slumped drastically by over 2% since yesterday, which is very bad news for the suckers who bought them. However, despite the losses suffered by investors who had foolishly invested their life savings into the Trump Cripto coins, the transactions brought 100 million US dollars in fees to the traders who handled the sales.
The crypto currency Doge coin, which previously had been regarded as something of a joke by financial analysts recently took on a more sinister appearance when Musk presented his plan to make US financial aid donations payments using doge Coins for security reasons, as the previous method of transferring such donations using cash donations was deemed to be outdated, risky and inefficient. The implications of such a shift in the way charitable donations to assist the poor, needy and desperate are transferred sent shivers down the spines of financial analysts around the world.
It appears that Elon Musk’s enormous wealth is largely based on the value of Tesla shares and that he doesn’t have that much ready cash. Musk could be facing bankruptcy if he doesn’t make some very smart moves to safeguard his empire. Also, he appears to be trying to buy a company called Open AI, but it seems not to be for sale.
At the same time, China is manufacturing entry-level EV cars by selling them at a price of approximately one third of the price of equivalent Tesla models – not a good picture for the US motor industry.
Trumps latest attempt to ‘take over’ foreign territory despite the fact that his threats to occupy Canada, Greenland, Mexico and the Panama Canal were met with very solid resistance; is threatening to occupy Gaza, clean up all the rubble, kick out all the Palestinians and make the Gaza Strip “The Riviera of the Middle East” on the shores of the Mediterranean sea – Wow his fantasies are reaching new heights! I suspect that Yahiwa Sinwar, the leader of Gaza will not take kindly to that idea!
Did these oligarchs with all their billions really think that the world leaders whose lands Trump is threatening to invade would meekly allow the US take over their territory without putting up a fight against such arrogant threats? – I think not!
Trump is currently threatening King Abdulla of Jordan with withdrawal of US military support to Egypt and jordan if the king dies not support Trump’s plan to take over Gaza, and deport Gaza residents to Jordan or elsewhere; presumably as refugees. The question is – How will King Abdulla respond? Will he tell Trump to ‘b … er off’, will he co-operate with Trump? or will Trump’s executive order be overturned like so many other executive orders he signed?
The orange-faced oligarch is trying to present himself as some kind of saviour of the Palestinian people who will rescue them from a miserable life amongst the rubble of Gaza, in order for the US to rebuild Gaza and create a paradise by the sea, but the Palestinian refugees should be very suspicious of such plans. A more likely outcome of Trump’s plan seems to be that the majority of those who are forced out of their will end up in some sort of refugee camp; and only the richest of those Palestinians will be able to enjoy Trump’s envisaged ” Riviera of the Middle East.”
Back to South Africa; My personal view on Trump’s action of stopping all humanitarian and other forms of aid to our country is that although I am vehemently opposed to most of Trump’ policies, is that It’s About Time that the US and European countries such as the UK and other democratic countries ‘nailed their colours to the mast’ and started putting political and financial pressure onto the ANC government in South Africa, to stop the absolutely shocking racialist nonsense of ‘expropriation without compensation’; just as they did in the 1980s, prior to the advent of democracy in 1994.
